According to the latest update from the premier and the Department of Health and Human Services in Victoria, Australia, under the third step restrictions, we can now provide driver education services to the general public once again!

How does COVID-19 spread?

When someone who has COVID-19 coughs or exhales they release droplets of infected fluid.

Most of these droplets fall on nearby surfaces and objects such as desks, tables, telephones. People could catch COVID-19 by touching contaminated surfaces or objects and then touching their eyes, nose, or mouth. If they are standing within one meter of a person with COVID-19 they could catch it by breathing in droplets coughed out or exhaled by them.

In other words, COVID-19 spreads in a similar way to the flu.

How can we reduce the risk of spread?

Wearing a mask in public is mandatory for reducing the spread according to the Victorian Government. It is preferred for students to supply and bring their own masks to every lesson. If you are unable to do so, we will supply disposable masks for you. Lessons will not be completed without both the driving educator and student wearing a mask.

Before every practical driving lesson, it is the responsibility of each student to correctly and honestly fill in the CRUDE Ultimate Driving Education online COVID-19 questionnaire in the 3 hours preceding the lesson.

If a student is feeling ill, no matter what the symptoms, they must not attend that lesson, and reschedule to a time when they will not be sick.

Prior to and after every practical driving lesson, all high touch surfaces inside and outside of the vehicle will be disinfected with antibacterial wipes.

This can include, but is not limited to: door handles, trims, steering wheel, vents, gear-shifter, handbrake, buttons, indicator, and wiper levers.

Driving educators and students will be required to sanitise their hands, which will be supplied, before beginning any practical driving lesson. It is advised that all students wash their hands and face thoroughly before and after every lesson.

Social Distancing

As we are unable to be 1.5 meters apart inside a vehicle, it is then the responsibility of both the driving educator and student to ensure hygiene practices are met and that both parties do not start any lesson if feeling any symptoms of sickness. Everyone must be in good health.

With the CRUDE Ultimate Driving Education’s COVID-19 online questionnaire in place, masks being worn, and the hygiene practices that will be followed, we will be able to safely proceed with lessons.
