How does COVID-19 spread?
When someone who has COVID-19 coughs or exhales they release droplets of infected fluid.
Most of these droplets fall on nearby surfaces and objects such as desks, tables, telephones. People could catch COVID-19 by touching contaminated surfaces or objects and then touching their eyes, nose, or mouth. If they are standing within one meter of a person with COVID-19 they could catch it by breathing in droplets coughed out or exhaled by them.
In other words, COVID-19 spreads in a similar way to the flu.
How can we reduce the risk of spread?
If a student is feeling ill, no matter what the symptoms, they must not attend that lesson, and reschedule to a time when they will not be sick.
Prior to and after every driving lesson, all high-touch surfaces inside and outside of the vehicle will be disinfected with antibacterial wipes.
This can include, but is not limited to: door handles, trims, steering wheel, vents, gear-shifter, handbrake, buttons, indicator and wiper levers.
Sanitiser is available on driving lessons. Masks are optional but are not supplied.
Contact tracing is currently sustained through the booking system with Setmore Appointments and can be reviewed at any time by students, driving educators, and government officials.
Social Distancing
As we are unable to be 1.5-metres apart inside a vehicle, it is then the responsibility of both the driving educator and student to ensure hygiene practices are met and that both parties do not start any lesson if feeling any symptoms of sickness. Everyone must be in good health.
