In 2016 and 2017 I volunteered for a spectacular event organised by the Warrandyte Lions Club that provided people who have impaired vision the opportunity to experience something that most people take for granted – driving a vehicle!
The image above ⬆️ is from 2016. Back then we were in the first ever learner vehicle, a 1999 Ford Laser! ⬇️
Since 2017, I never got the opportunity to return and volunteer my time.
However, this year I will be joining alongside many other driving instructors at Sandown Raceway in Springvale, Victoria to once again give people with impaired vision a go at driving!
This time in the 2022 Hyundai i30 Sedan N! ⬇️
I will be live streaming parts of the day, so you can visit my Twitch channel to catch some of the action.
As there are various drive times and everyone who drives my vehicle must give their consent to be filmed, we won’t be continually live streaming so pop in and out to see if we are live during the whole day.
If you live in Victoria, Australia and want to join in on the fun of the day, you can come on down to Sandown Raceway!
There will be a sign up if you want to participate in the joy rides that will be happening in various cool cars and bikes. Food and drinks will be available for purchase but the event is FREE!
